EBU supporters have been talking a lot about the Russian Heavyweight Champion. His reputation is a fearsome one for sure. At 25 years old, he has a record that is littered with the names of great fighters.
Kuznetsov has had an opponent die after fighting him, another that was left blind and another that was left in a coma. So his reputation is well deserved and he is rightfully feared.
The sudden interest is because DelBrey vs Havey III is on the 1st of December 2017. The winner will be fighting Kuznetsov in November. The contracts are already signed.
Most expect DelBrey to beat Havey and go on to a mega fight with Kuznetsov. Havey could win and Havey vs Kuznetsov is equally appealing.
Kuznetsov is a seriously dangerous fight for either Brit. I was talking to a trainer the other day that said this, “DelBrey will beat Havey this time but then he will lose to Kuznetsov. The Russians style is completely wrong for DelBrey. If Havey could do the unthinkable and beat DelBrey, His counter punching style has a better chance of beating Kuznetsoz.”
Another trainer said this, “DelBrey and Havey would both school this Kuznetsov. He has the power and ferociousness but our boys have the experience to deal with that. DelBrey would dominate him in every round and Havey would knock Kuznetsoz out.”
Promoter Aaron Miller said this, “Doesn’t matter who it is. Delbrey or Havey. They would both be screwed in a ring with him. They don’t have youth on their side and Kuznetsov has been very active.”
Kuznetsov has been in multiple fights that have ended in tragedy. Lets not forget, DelBrey and Havey have both been in fights that ended in tragedy, although a long time ago. That’s why this whole set up is so interesting. Two fights, three very dangerous fighters. I don’t know for sure what will happen. But I know that they all are capable of hurting the others. The Kuznetsov vs ? fight also has a rematch clause. The loser is legally entitled to a rematch so expect a second outing.
