Chamber vs Meers is a fight that the fans want to see. It has been on the cards for 3 years but repeatedly we have seen negotiations fall apart. No one can be sure who is to blame. Chambers has received more of the blame but it isn’t clean cut. Both men gave their opinions.
“Its been a complicated process. We have come close. A few times we have come close. Whenever it looks like pen will meet paper, something happens. Something gets in the way. Meers wants way to much money. That’s the biggest hurdle. He cant have whats not there. He cant have more than me. I’m the Champion” Chambers.
“He just doesn’t want the fight. That’s all there is to it. We want it. I have given in to so many of his demands. Then he wants me to take a 20% revenue cut. What? Seriously? I always receive the higher cut and rightly so. I sell more tickets than anyone in the division, by far. No one comes close. In recognition of his title, I agreed to a 50/50” Meers.
