The ring stands out like a symbol of manliness in the centre of a packed out arena. Two men stare each other down with eyes that would make most men tremble. Within minutes they will battle it out with gloved fist in the hope of earning glory and increasing cash earnings. They are the warriors of the modern world. They are the men that do what most of us could never imagine doing.
Men have always fought. It’s an instinct that goes way back. The toughest man would have his pick of mates. His genes were a benefit and should be spread. Not much has changed. Boxers aren’t the most attractive people. They have facial damage. Yet arenas are still packed with girls looking to bag a modern warrior for the night. One girl once told, “no one else is like a boxer. No one else has that aura. They are the only true alpha males”.
boxing is as popular as ever. We live in a world of political correctness. A world that insists they we are kind to each other. Youngsters that are gentle and feminine are can thrive. A man being manly is no longer that important.
i like living in the world we live in. I certainly couldn’t claim to be a alpha male. How has boxing remained still relevant?
well… A man may not be manly, but he will wish he was. I don’t believe that any man would be telling the truth if he said otherwise. It’s engrained deeply in a genetic makeup. Boxers remind us of what we wish we could be. That’s the simple fact. People will say it’s not true but they are only saying it because they don’t believe they could ever be like that. Good looking people never say that personality isn’t all that matters. Rich people never say that all the good things in life are free.
